hmm, I've been watching a lot of foreign films, mostly K-Horror and J-horror. (Korean and Japanese Horror films.)
I actually prefer them to american horror films because they aren't afraid to show gore that people in America would think is "graphic". For example a depressed person in an american film will still be able to function and will walk around, they'll only have a constant 'defeated' look. A depressed person in an Asian film won't even get out of bed, and when they do, they fill up their bathtub and drown themselves.
You'll never see a pretty blonde american lady drown herself in her own bathtub.
Asian films also have much darker themes, such as, well, Parents killing their own children, and bullied children killing their tormentors in a truely gruesome way.
Speaking of bullied children, have you noticed that when teachers and adults want to talk about kids being bullied, it's always disgustingly watered down?
I mean, Adults will use the word "fight" when really it was a "beating, where one child was mauled and almost killed by five other kids"
Anyways, getting back on topic. (avoiding a rant)
"A tale of two sisters" is a Korean film and is currently my favorite. BUT. IT HAS COME TO MY ATTENTION THAT SOMETIME NEXT YEAR IT WILL BE REMADE INTO AN AMERICAN FILM. I'm sure it will be awful.

I'd agree with you but not because Ive seen K or J Horror movies. Your right in how American movies are made, anymore everythings made to be PG which Im totally against. They say young kids shouldnt see things like sex in movies but anymore you can walk outside and see it happening right infront of you in public! Therefore American movies are often a drag. I have seen though, in alot of horror movie competitions and stuff of that matter, that J&K movies often blow away the competition when they're involed. I'll have to watch a few soon for myself.
