Ghosts of Fleet Street

London, England. Ten years after the death of the famous and infamous barber Sweeney Todd, previously known as Benjamin Barker, and his accomplice Mrs. Lovett. Their entire plot and fate was found out upon investigation and the few answers given by Tobias 'Toby' Ragg, who disappeared soon after. Naturally, rumors fly about Mrs. Lovett's old pie shop and Sweeney Todd's barber shop in the attic being haunted. But few take such rumors seriously - few will openly admit to really believing in ghosts.
A woman has recently moved into the old place, and a man has been seen lurking about, both reminding all who see them of the deceased tragic and terrifying duo. Fleet Street may or may not be haunted, but the local citizens of London now have considerable reason to be suspicious of the eerily familiar two new residents. How, though, could they possibly be related? Sweeney Todd and Nellie Lovett died, everyone knew. But if the two were to ever meet... if the man were to ever move in and the two to start a business.... who could help but give them wary stares?

- Basic stuff. No GMing; controlling other characters, killing without permission, blah blah. Be literate.
-All questions, comments, whatever must be sent by PM. No spamming the thread with OoC.
- One character per person.
- Basically the two so like Sweeney and Lovett are reincarnations, but back then not many had heard of that, so.
- Anthony Hope and Sweeney's daughter Johanna are alive, in their late twenties now and married, but they moved out of London. So no asking for them.
- As reminders, Turpin and the Beadle are dead. So is Lucy, Sweeney's wife. So yeah.
- This means the only canon can be Toby Ragg. A request form for him and Lovett's reincarnate can be found below.
-Besides Toby, Lovett's reincarnate, and whatever antagonist someone thinks up, only two others may join.

Name: Simon Hollow
Age: 34
Gender: Male
Appearance: Form is slender, almost feminine. Skin is pale. Eyes are black-brown; has a scar going down through his left eye that he accidentally gave himself with his razors once. Hair is almost shoulder-length, straight, messy, and completely white. Bangs come down over his eyes much of the time, particularly on the left side of his face. Wears a dark grey waistcoat over a long-sleeved white shirt, and a faded dark red scarf, along with black off-white pinstriped pants and black shoes. Black top hat.
Occupation: Barber
Brief History: His parents taken to an asylum while he was a child for reasons never made clear to him, he was thrown in an orphanage but ran away because he was treated poorly due to his white hair. He grew up on his own, acquiring two straight razors typically for shaving in some garbage and using them to help him survive, despite that they weren't in great condition. In his teens he figured out how to use them as they were intended, and thus earned money by offering shaves on the street that increased his skill in the practice. He was never able to make a name for himself because he never earned enough money for a home nor place to set up a business. Now wandering Fleet Street, he often gazes with longing at the old place of the infamous Mrs. Lovett and Sweeney Todd, wanting it despite its supposed ghosts; particularly interested in Sweeney's old razors, which are rumored to still sit in the attic where he worked, gathering dust.

Name: Alexis Bloom
Appearance: With dark auburn hair that falls to her mid-back(but is usually kept up in a messy bun -- she's not one for dolling herself up) and keen dark green eyes, there's a slight resemblance between her and Mrs. Lovett but only if you look closely enough. She’s rather on the thin side, any kind of bust hidden by her corset (when she’s not wanting to mess with her corset, she‘ll wear a waist cincher instead), and has a heart shaped-like face and full lips that come out in a natural pout. Her skin is pale and creamy but not terribly pale, which causes the natural lavender colored bags under her eyes to show. They only seem to go away when she has a good nights rest. Which is rare. She also stands at about 5’6’’ without heels and 5’7’’ with them on. She doesn’t look like your average 29 year old, only because she was graced with excellent aging genes. She usually wears dark dresses that look rather ratty and tend to have flour stains on them.
Occupation: Baker~ She bakes pies, of course, but doesn't seem all that enthused by it. She has this weird feeling every time she does, but she can never explain the feeling. (Lawl, I don’t know)
Brief History: Alexis was a sickly child, spending most of her childhood in and out of hospitals and when she wasn’t in the hospital, always at home with her grandmoth (what happened to her parents is a mystery she's not willing to talk about), resting in her room. To say she was frail and weak was an understatement. She only began to grow more healthy when her grandmother perished and she was finally able to escape her grasp. In her teen years she was taken into a wealthy home to work as a maid and that’s where she picked up her knack for cooking. After saving up enough money from little odd jobs on the side, she bought her own place and fixed it up for business. Nothing really out of the ordinary happened for the time she lived and worked there, she has a rather boring past, and once she made enough money she decided, as a treat for her twenty-ninth birthday, to buy the old Lovett place. For some reason she could never quite understand, it had always intrigued her. And here she is, fixing it up and getting ready to re-open it for business.

Appearance:Edward has very bronze, messy hair with light (almost grey) blue eyes. He has a very soft and pale complextion and he is very pretty. He is tall (about 6'0") and terribly thin (but not annorexic thin). He usually wears a white under shirt with a vest over it and dress pants. He wears brown boots with metal ubuttons in them. He wears gloves that have the fingertips cut off on his two index fingers.
Occupation: Edward is a rival barber of Simon Hollow.
Brief History: When Edward was young he wanted to become a barber just like his idol, Mr. Benjamin Barker. He loved the razors that Mr. Barker used and thought that the razors were his source of 'power', so to speak. He thought that if maybe someday he could open a barber shop of his own, and earn Mr. Barkers trust he would be able to gain the razors. But then Mr. Barker disappeared and so did his razors. 15 years goes by and no Mr. barker. Then suddenly a new barber has become almost as popular. Edward see's one day at a contest the razor's this 'Sweenet Todd' is using them, and recognizes them as Mr. Barkers. He is appaled that this man would get them. He begins to plan to steal these razors, but soon Mr. Todd has vanished, just like Mr. Barker. He is still searching for the razors, and hopes to someday find them and become the best barber in london.

A pale, rather ghostly-looking Mr. Hollow stood across the street from Lovett's old pie shop, leaning against the wall at the end of an alleyway. It was evening - although it couldn't be seen at all, the sun was setting, and the usual cloudy gloominess was getting gloomier. The shadows that clung to his face revealed bones that structured it quite beautifully, although hunger made the bones slightly more apparent than the beauty.
A woman had recently moved into the place. He wondered what business she would start there, if she would change it at all... if she would find or go looking for Sweeney Todd's old razors.

His dark eyes, subtly but noticeably filled with loathing and hatred and sorrow, were briefly visible through his hair as he stared at the building. He hadn't had much business lately and had no money for a dinner tonight. He slumped to sit on the dirty ground, the rest of him - clothes, skin, hair, and all - visibly not much cleaner.

Alexis leaned over the diminishing candle, toying with the wax idly as she sat in the living room, finally finished with cleaning up her new home and fixing it up. Tomorrow morning she would have to rouse herself early and go to the market to fetch some flour and whatever else she needed so she could start baking again before she opened up the shop. She wrinkled her nose a moment as she let her chin rest in the palm of her hand, the fingers of her other now playing with the flame as she gazed at it unseeingly. Her mind was else where now, wondering if the rumors about the Lovett place was true. If it was haunted, she certainly hadn’t seen any ghosts or heard any, for that matter. But, she was having more trouble sleeping lately, it seemed, now that she living there.

The rumor that there was a man ghosting around her shop probably didn’t help with this fact either, though she certainly wasn’t afraid. She had caught a few glimpses of him every once in a while as she locked up the shop but was never truly bothered him. She was curious about him, though, but the sensible part of her told her to leave him alone.

She was reminded of the old stories about Lovett and Sweeney and her lips twitched lightly before a light smile graced her pale features, which seemed to be glowing in the candlelight. Her eyes strayed to the window for a moment before she stood up, bringing the candle with her and crossing the threshold of the kitchen. She vaguely wondered if that “ghost” man, too, was after Sweeney’s razors as she began pulling the shutters closed on the window. She paid no mind to those on the street, to busy with her own thoughts to be worried. Perhaps if she wasn’t so preoccupied, she would have caught a glimpse of the strange “ghost” that was sitting across from her shop.

She made a small face after she was finished closing up and tilted her head up towards the ceiling, green eyes sparkling curiously. What if the razors were still up there? She hadn’t checked. She didn’t want to go up there anyways, it gave off a sense of foreboding. Yet she was still eager to know what exactly still remained. Most likely nothing but dust but how would she know? She had lived here for almost a week and had avoided the attic like the plague. She wasn’t afraid, really, but she had no use for it. She could always rent it out…

Her lips pursed for a moment before she let out a weary sigh.

“Yes, well..” she said aloud to herself. “Curiosity killed the cat.” she rolled her eyes before stepping cautiously out the side door, shutting it behind her. She peered up the stairs for a moment, half-expecting some crazed loon to jump out and scare her. She swallowed a giggle and held up her dress to allow her to walk up the stairs without tripping, pulling out the key magically to the room from her bosom once she reached the door. She wrinkled her nose as she unlocked it and pushed it open, squinting inside a moment before holding her candle out ahead of her and stepping inside.

Nothing but dust. As she had expected. She peered down at the floor as she crossed it slowly, careful to listen for any loose boards as her shoes clacked loudly and echoed off the walls. She had lived to long as a maid to know that everyone had a hiding spot for their things, dead or alive. She heard a satisfying squeak and she kneeled down, touching the board for a moment before slipping her thin fingers underneath it. She gave a hearty tug and it came free of the rest of the floor too easily. She smiled once more and set it down on the floor, peering down into the hole eagerly.

“Ah,” her eyes lit up as her hand snaked into the darkness and gingerly lifted a rather dusty box up. She eyed it warily for a moment or two before blowing off the dust and opening it. She blinked in slight surprise as two razors glistened and shined in the light the flame of her candle cast and another, more permanent, smile flitted over her graceful features. She ran her fingers over them lightly, barely even touching the utensils of death, but never picked them up. After a few moments of gazing, she shut the box and put it back beneath the floor before putting the board back as well. She stood, setting the candle on the windowsill before scurrying off back downstairs to get a broom, shutting the door behind her but leaving it unlocked. What was the harm in cleaning it up? She disappeared back in her shop in search for a broom, leaving the side door partly cracked.

Although his face was aimed towards the opposite wall of the alley, the eyes again hidden beneath his hair still stared towards the old pie shop. He watched as the new resident exited the side door that led to what had been outdoor dining, taking note of her petite form as she shuffled up the stairs to the attic. A frown hovered on his lips. The woman soon glided out and back down the stairs, then inside, although candlelight still escaped from the bottom of the door. He stared for a moment, but all remained still. It was dark out now, streetlights dimly glowing; the night had descended quickly.
In one swift, flowing movement he stood, then darting across the street like a shadow and stopping to stand just outside the fence of the outdoor dining area. He stared up the stairs at the attic door, eyes still in his hair, top hat removed from his head and held at his side. In his present dirty, ragged state he looked little different than a typical delusional beggar.

Alexis snatched the broom from the wall she had left it leaning against earlier and tucked a few stray shocks of hair behind her ear as she headed back outside. She blinked in surprise at the sudden white-haired figure at her gate, repressing a small sound that rose in her throat. She held onto her broom, silent for a moment, before following his gaze.

“I know why you’ve been haunting my shop,” she said suddenly, not bothering to shift her orbs back onto him. Her brows knitted together before she looked back over to him. “If you want them, you can have 'em. I have no use for 'em S’long as you have something to eat before you go, you look like a walking skeleton.” she pulled open the gate to let him in.

He was abruptly snapped out of his thoughts by a voice, and jumped at the sound, looking to the woman who had returned and now stood on the other side of the fence. He frowned, taking a step back. ".. I didn't say I wanted anything." He answered quietly but sternly. He seemed ready to run, like an animal that had never encountered a human before, yet didn't move. The gate was opened, but he only stared at her soft features warily, eyes remaining concealed under his hair.
