( Yaoi. :] My two new mer-shark charries. First poster has to be male. After that charries can be anything[including a different kind of mer]. )
Two sleek, silvery forms glided through the water near effortlessly, their long tails making hardly any sound in the open sea. Both looked relatively the same.. blacktip reef shark mer, young males perhaps in their late teens. Their human skin was pale, their forms slender but certainly not without muscle. Their hair was about shoulder-length, straight and black but for some silvery-gray streaks.
One had a stripe going down his cheek from his left eye, the other had the same down his right eye. The one with the stripe on the right eye had normal eyes for a shark mer; completely black, both pupil and iris. The other, however, had an entirely black eyeball, his iris and pupil a nearly glowing white.. quite eerie, really. Whether it effected his vision or not was hard to tell; sharks relied so little on it, after all.
They were heading in the direction of shore, with hungry intentions in mind. As the sea grew shallower they passed over a reef, and the normal-eyed one glanced down hungrily. "Keep moving, Castor." The other warned. "Just a snack," replied Castor, his black, webbed, claw-like hand suddenly darting out and spearing a small fish, which he quickly shovelled into his mouth. He swallowed it just about whole, as when a shark mer got hungry all of their teeth sharpened into fully-shark teeth.
As the water continued to grow shallower, the twins made sure to keep themselves low against the sand to avoid their dorsal fin being seen. This wasn't a public beach, it was the beach of a house held above the dunes by stilts. The mer sharks had been watching it for awhile and had determined at least one certain victim from it. Today they were making their move.
"I'll take beached whale since you did last time. You take shark attack." Castor said. The other nodded. Castor began to glide even close to shore. "Be careful, Castor." The strange-eyed one said, somewhat concerned although they had done this before. Castor smiled. "You too, Cosmo." Cosmo smiled, then moving back out into slightly deeper water, and then gliding to his right for a few yards to make distance between him and his twin.
Castor poked the top of his head above water, keeping his nostrils submerged. His black eyes peered about the beach warily, then glancing at the house. Assured no one was nearby yet, he continued until he had to drag himself along in the shallow water, black claws digging into the sand, muscular tail flailing behind him in an attempt to propel him forward. Finally his more human half was partially on the sand, the constant flow of shoreline waves being the only source of water to the gills on his sides and neck. He lay somewhat on his side, as his back was uncomfortable due to his dorsal fin. He took slow, steady breathes to keep calm under the lack of water, closing his eyes to feign unconsciousness. He had done this before many times and knew how to keep from panicking, but there was always a risk.
He knew Cosmo was somewhere out in the water, waiting in case anyone came in the water. This rarely happened, as with the beached whale plan whoever was the 'beached whale' usually got what they came for, seeing as a creature such as them being on shore attracted most attention. So now Castor continued his deep breathing, keeping it calm and not frantic, waiting until their chosen victim or someone just as good came down from the house.
