Can't anyone be happy anymore?
It just seems like everyone is always
Sad Depressed Angry
Can't we be happy anymore?
Can't we just look at the sky, and smile? Can't we just think of that grade we got on our last test and be proud? Can't we stop trying to only see the negative? Can't we try not to dwell on everything that is bad? Can't we not hold grudges, be adults, and move on?
It's not like I don't know that the world is fucked up, but we don't have to be. We can try and be happy, try and focus on the good. I'm not saying that we need to put on blinders, and pretend that all the bad stuff doesn't exist, but come on...
I'm so sick of this.
Smile, damn it.
I refuse to sit here, and always be sad. That isn't living.
I'm happy, and for no real reason. I don't have a boyfriend to make me happy, I don't have a great family, I don't have ample amounts of time to relax, I don't always see my friends, I don't always get enough sleep, I don't always get good grades. But I'm still happy.
So I'm going to smile. I'm going to be happy. I'm going to look forward to the future.
See? It can be done. You can be happy even if there is nothing big to be happy over.
Try to be happy with the simple things, maybe?
I don't know....
My advice to the world; Happiness is a great feeling, try it.

People are never satisfied. We're fickle. We'll wish and want and desire something for the longest time, and then if and when we finally get it we either decide we want something else or we want more. And more, and more. True and complete happiness is only achieved for a short time. A very short time. No matter how many times it's achieved it'll still only be around for a short time.
So on those occasions you believe you've got true and complete happiness, no matter how rare or common they are for you, be thankful for them. Every second that you've got that happiness, be thankful.
I'm a -professional- pessimist. :>

What Ree says is so true. Human emotions are confusing. Selfish, fickle, envious, lustful.. I think we wrote the whole book on how to live by the seven deadly sins. No one is every happy with any thing any more. They always need MORE MORE MORE. Like me. I admit it.
Ha ha.
My sin is totally envy. I'm a baaaaaad person. :< I envy a lot. I envy people with addictions, for Christ's sake. Because they have something to obsess over and I don't! I hate not having control over things. -mumble.- But. =] I'm happier then most.
Positive vibes, HI-HO~!

You're foolish in your unhappiness. That is all.

I'm wrath. >D -insert evil laugh- But I started envying a lot, and, then, I, *coff* stopped. ... *coff* LOOK, THAT'S THE MAGICAL SUBJECT-CHANGING COFF. But my sin never changed. I was just envying a lot for a period. Pchow.

People are never satisfied? Sure they are, I know a lot of people who are just happy they're alive. I'm happy because I choose to be, if some people spent as much time trying to be miserable as they are trying to be happy the world would be a better place.
To want more and more and more, is selfish most of the time, if you're not mature enough to be content with what you have, you need to grow up and let go.
"True and complete happiness is only achieved for a short time. A very short time. No matter how many times it's achieved it'll still only be around for a short time." I can't find any logic, but to me it seems as though you've never been happy for longer than a short while. You pull this from personal experience, you can be happy for long periods at a time if you choose to be happy. Don't let the world bog you down.
but there is a time and place for everything, if there is an event where it's inappropriate to be happy, don't blow everything off for your happiness alone. You have to think before acting.
I'm done now.

It's not just from personal experience. :/ It's from the experience of others too. I've seen a lot of lives and heard a lot of opinions, I know what I'm talking about. You're an optimist, and that's fine; but I'm not, I'm 'brutally' honest, and I spew the truth more than I do optimism.
I'm not saying this thread is silly, or even that I'm against trying to tell people to just be happy, I'm just saying it's not something I do and that not a lot of people are willing to do it. It's more than difficult to 'choose' your emotions and make whatever you choose sincere. For the most part it's basically like acting; lying to yourself more than anyone, really.
Unless you're like The Nemsis. xD Rather than choose to be happy, he's happy so much he has to choose to be sad, and when he does it's like acting because it's just for humorous purposes and therefore not very sincere.
