[Lunar Tragedy]

Ember frowned, his orange eyes cast downward on the figure knelt before him. He sighed slightly, closing his purplish eyelids against the sights, concentrating only on what he heard. Somehow, he felt a little guilty as he heard her sobbing mixed with Simon's yell. Part of him wanted to help his youngest brother against Ville, but logically he knew that Ville wouldn't pose much of a threat with his kind ways. A much larger part of him wanted simply to devour the small morsel that shook at his feet.

His eyes reopened, creating a serene look of resolve over his pale features. He stooped over then, gently lifting the female from the ground. "Relax... Everything will be alright." He whispered, one hand holding her head to his with a comforting pat. The vampire meant what he said, too. Her last moments would be as painless as he could possibly manage.

He pushed Charlie against the nearest wall, taking in her scent as he drew closer, his body pinning hers against the hard surface. Enticed by the sweet stimulation of her skin, his mouth opened without conscious direction and he sank his teeth into her.

"Obviously, he's doing something right!" Akina retorted angrily, releasing her friend to move between Simon and Ville. Her sapphire glaze appeared to be set aflame as it bore into Simon, her eyebrows furrowing in anger. Without even knowing the guy, she already wished to fight him. Unfortunately, even she knew how bad she'd lose. Shaking her head, she stepped backward, her small hand clenching into a tight grip around Ville's wrist. "You have to go with us. You know it's not safe here."

Only then did her eyes leave the angry vampire's, to glance over at Izzy as she clearly heard Charlie's sobs. Akina flinched visibly, her heart aching for her friend. Were it not for Ville's kind sacrifice, she would have ran downstairs already to Charlie's rescue. Now, though, she owed the tall boy quite a large favor. He was probably the only thing that had kept Izzy alive. "Let's go."

((It'd be too sad to kill Charlie now *at least to me*, so can Ember just kinda...leave her bleeding but not dead?))

Charlie gasped as she felt Ember's cool breath against her skin, his sharp teeth peirce her skin. Should she be afraid? He wasn't hurting her, but she knew she was going to die. Should she cry? She was dieing and wouldn't be able to see her friends again. She wondered if Izzy and Akina had gotten away.

For some unknown reason Charlie smiled. She closed her eyes and saw the best thing her mind could conjure up. She saw Izzy and Akina, both smiling, the sun beating down britghly. She could her feel her body growing slightly colder, her fingers becoming numb along with her feet. She lifted her arms wrapping them around Ember's shoulders.

"I'll miss you Izzy..." she mummbled, resting her sweat dampened head against his arm

She grinned slightly, "I'm sorry for smoking so much Akina, I promise I won't do it ever again. I love you guys..."

She felt the blackness surround her, her head feeling light, fell back limply as everyhting went cold. She was quite peeved though. There was no bright light at the end of any tunnel, no crossdressing man smiling and telling her to go back, but she knew she was dead. And oddly enough, she wasn't sad.

((Well, I don't know... it depends on if they come save you. =/ Let's just say I don't want you writing a eulogy for her yet, but don't get too happy either. ))

The sensation was somehow better than usual, despite his tension and slight remorse. Admittedly, the girl he currently bit tasted very good, but he wasn't sure what made this particular meal so.... special. Didn't they all taste good? More predatory instincts took over, fighting against his mind in hopes to beat away all the logical thoughts. These instincts made quite an impact.

Drawn away from the thoughts of what Charlie whispered and away from his remorse, he let out a low, guttural sound somewhat akin to a moan as he put more pressure into the bite. The vampire would enjoy this, even against what he may know to be "right." It was his nature, after all.

((-sighs.- Woohoo. Look who decided to show up~))

"What does it look like?" Ville replied calmly, though the child in him was wanting to say "Probably something I shouldn't be doing!". His lips were curved ever so slightly with amusement though there was really nothing funny about this situation. Yet, his golden eyes continued to sparkle with dark laughter as he remained in his stiff, defensive posture.

Sometimes, he really had to question himself and what he was doing. Why couldn't he possibly be normal? Or in this case, act like a true monster would? Then again, he could never be like his brothers. They really did disgust him... Why pretend to be something he never could imagine being?

Izzy, who had bolted down to the dining room, dragging Akina with her, heard Charlie's last words just before the other girl slipped into unconsciousness. Her brows furrowed as a horrible rage clenched her stomach into tight knots. No one ever hurt her friends, especially her kin. Before she could think things over reasonably, the book, which was still magically in her hands, smashed into the side of Ember's face with a considerable force for any human, especially a girl. She had felt something crack inside the binding and she wondered for a moment if the book was going to fall apart. But, there were more important things then worrying over old books.

"Get off of Charlie." she demanded, tone dark and venomous, eyes dark with rage.

Ember blinked, his trance momentarily broken by the hard impact against his skull. As he pulled himself back from the dreamlike state Charlie's blood had put him in, he also became vaguely aware that the smallest female seemed to be clawing and kicking at him. Demands and growls filled his ears, and he drew a bit more blood from his victim in attempt to drown out the distractions. The vampire was like a sleepy teenager, preying for just five more minutes before he had to awaken.

Another kick, this time in a much more sensitive portion of his anatomy, caused him to pull away slowly, his glazed orange eyes glaring at Akina as he did so. The fragile body of Charlies was released, and the girl slumped over toward Izzy.
