~IMPORTANT~SPOILER WARNING.[Okay before this roleplay takes off I should mention some things first. This is a Death Note roleplay, if you haven't finished the series and don't wish to read spoilers don't bother going down any farther, the series will just be ruined for you.]

This is based on the Manga series, not the anime or the Movie.

This will take place at The Wammy's House, an orphanage founded by Watari in the United Kingdom, in the Death Note series. Even though there are many interpretations about what the orphanage is like, I'll lay it down, so that We have a standard to work from.

There are two children per room, girls can't be in boy's rooms and boys can't be in girl's rooms. Bedrooms are located upstairs. The timeframe we'll be roleplaying in is before the death of L, and before the Kira case. Year 2000? ( this would make Near 9 years old, Mello 11, Matt 10) The kids are free of classes for now. There are three playrooms, a Library, six classrooms, and a Gym that's located in the basement. Playrooms and classrooms are located on the ground floor. The outside courtyard is fenced in, nobody is allowed beyond the fence without premission or supervision. The kitchen is off-limits, but kids sneak in there anyways and take things. Mealtimes are Usually Breakfast 6AM-9 PM Lunch 12PM - 2PM Dinner 6PM-8PM. Curfew is at 11PM Everyone has to be in bed by then, and no one is allowed out of their rooms. The days off are usually unplanned, kids can play outside or in the playrooms, or just hang around.

I think two characters is plenty, but if you're just DYING to have another, go for it, but if you're just going to be stagnant with your characters, forget it. You can be OCs and someone can be a teacher, or Roger if they wish. (wouldn't bossing around a bunch of super-smart kids be fun?)
People can be Mello or Near if they want to, also.
( I know I'm using their translated names, but if you'd rather use "Nia" or "Mero" just say so, we're all flexible here.)
L will visit on occasion, mostly to see Mello or Near, or Maybe he just feels like stopping by between cases, whatever. He can't be there all the time, but if someone REALLY wants to be L for those instances, they can. (I'll list the taken characetrs in a sec.)

Matt was happily staring dead at the TV. After so many dungeons, so many puzzles, so many mosters...He will finally finish this game...IN RECORD TIME! He smiled to himself, how great was that!? He paused and quickly wiped off his hands. SO CLOSE. SO VERY CLOSE... There couldn't be anything better than a great video game, except BEATING IT. "I should save..." He watched as the little character ran towards the save point....suddenly... *PLINK*
the TV goes black.
"WHAAAT!?"

He stared wide-eyed with his mouth open, he couldn't believe it.
"AHH!"
He madly started pressing buttons hoping the game would magically turn on again. It didn't.

Mello was trying very hard to contain his laughter, he was hiding in the kitchen by the fusebox. He heard Matt's cry, and almost toppled off of the kitchen counter. He quickly flipped the switch back and closed the door, hopping off of his perch and picking up the soccer ball he left by the kitchen door. He peeked into the hallway watching a few kids pass by, and tucking the ball under his arm he walked behind them. He casually walked by the playroom Matt was in, pretending not to know what he was doing, then turned around and stuck his head in.
"What're you doing?"
He watched as Matt was holding the controller still pressing buttons even though the screen was blank. It was horribly amusing, and Mello was having trouble supressing a grin. He threw the ball at Matt and it lightly bounced off of his head and rolled into the corner of the room.
"You dummy"

Matt looked up still looking quite dazed and still tapping away at the buttons. "Hellooo Mellooo." He grinned "...that rhymes." Matt pulled his goggles down so they hung around his neck and slowly got to his feet. His whole leg was numb from sitting on the floor, and it tingled like crazy when the blood was finally getting back into circulation. He limped over to the corner of the room and picked up the soccerball. He turned slowly to face Mello and waited a bit before walking back, the feelig was already back into his leg, which was a good thing. Without even a second thought he shoved the soccerball down Mello's shirt and took off running like a madman. He pourposely knocked over a table and a chair as he fled, hoping to slow Mello down, just a little...maybe?

If we're in a desperate need for an L or Near, I can gladly rp them. Dunno how well I'd be at rping both, considering it'd my first time, buuuut...

Appearance: With pale blonde hair and reddish-pink eyes, one would consider Nari an albino though they never really notice that she actually contains pigment in her skin, such as freckles and what not. That being said, Nari rarely goes outside do to the fact she normally burns like a piece of bacon in a frying pan, so she spends her time inside, reading and drawing. The like. She's thinner and lankier then most of the girls her age, which she doesn't mind, and stands about a half a head taller then them. She usually just wears whatever is comfortable, keeping her hair pulled back in a low pony tail at the nape of her neck so her hair won't get in her way..
Other: meeeh.. nothing I can think of. She's a speed reader and really good at drawing. -shrugs.-

Nari lounged quietly in the empty library, turning a page in the thick, leather bound book she was pouring over at the moment. Aah.. what was it over? Smallpox. A virtually dead disease but never the less a deadly weapon if in the wrong hands. Not many knew how they kept over 500 million little tubes of smallpox cases in a safe somewhere hidden in the US. And only two people had the keys, one of which was always on site. Of course, no one would make it in to the safe alive. It would set off a trap of liquid nitrogen and then you would freeze.. which would most likely feel like your skin is burning. Who would bother to go through all of that any ways?

Flipping an old, yellowed page, Nari's dark pink eyes scanned the tiny text, absorbing and appraising the amazing doctor who had taken his time to study and write about smallpox. Disgusting disease but none the less fascinating.. After a few moments, she marked her spot and stood, stretching quietly and walking to the window. She peered out curiously, tucking a few pale blonde stray locks of hair behind her ear as she studied the playing children below.

"HEY!!"
Mello first threw the soccer ball after Matt, then ran after him, staying close on his heels. He easily hopped over the table and chair and gave chase all around the house. Dodging the small groups of kids, the duo was being incredibly noisy, knocking over small tables and stools. Eventually the chase led outside. Mello, getting quite sick of the whole thing, halted suddenly, and gave Matt a nasty look as he darted away. He'd get even before the day was done, easy, no need to get revenge right away. He slowly stalked back inside, setting up the table by the door as he walked in. He went back around the house, resetting all the furniture that was knocked over, no big deal. All the while he kept plotting on how to get back at Matt. Nothing big, just enough to irritate him, like hiding all his games... he smiled to himself, that was just the beginning though...

After losing Mello, Matt had quickly scuttled up an oak tree, and sat on a high branch. He didn't particularly enjoy being outside, but he wasn't going to go back inside. Mello was vindictive, and Matt knew he was going to get it sooner or later. Or maybe, if Mello decides he wants to be lazy today......He was hoping Mello would simmer down and study or something, anything...except plot against him. He ran his fingers through his hair and sighed. It was hot...really hot...Matt looked up and saw no clouds, a perfect sunny day...greeeat. He shimmied back down the tree and sat under it. He watched a group of girls play hand clap games, and jump rope. Another group of kids were playing marbles and tag. Matt yawned, it was much cooler under the tree. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a gameboy and started playing tetris...Last time record....four hours straight...He started the timer on his watch and began playing.

After taking the book back to her room, Nari stretched her arms and stalked down stairs, bare feet sinking down into the lush carpet as she went. She noticed Mello setting up fallen furniture and for a moment, her attention was drawn to him then it quickly wandered to what had made the furniture fall? Matt, no doubt. Couldn't they just actually behave for once?

"You guys shouldn't be so rough," her quiet, raspy voice filled the silence as she began helping Mello pick up the items. She said nothing more, she wasn't really one to scold..
