Once at the entrance of Starbucks, Syde paused, putting his finger to his lips in a signal to be quiet. They stood there silently for a minute or so. It was difficult to tell where his gaze was. Then suddenly he darted inside, taking her in with him by the hand of course. It was a smooth, flowing sort of speed, the pair a blur for an instant, but then they were inside, the door closed behind them. This was unlike him, as he seemed to be the type to open the door for a lady. He glanced outside a moment, rubbed his ear, then turned and smiled at Lily like the random burst of speed was typical. He led her to a table and pulled out the seat for her; only more proof that it was odd he didn't open the door for her. "I'll order and pay. What would you like?" He asked, smiling. The two employees behind the counter blinked up at the couple, as if with the question of 'When did they get here?'. But they continued about their business. The rest of the tables were empty of customers.

"uhm..." Lily was taken a bit off-guard, but recovered herself quickly. She sat down, folding her umbrella closed and set it next to her. "mmm, I don't know, nothing right now." She looked up at him and smiled. Thoughts were nagging at the back of her head, and she tried her best to ignore them, or at the least, not seem like she was bothered by anything. She blinked slowly, odd, why the sudden entrance, and...who was that strange person leering at us from before? sighing, she didn't want to worry about it anymore, it only messed with her evening. She watched Syde through her eyelashes, curiouser and curiouser, a warm smile on her face.

A small, blonde boy walked out from the bathroom, a large book tucked beneath his arm. He glanced up briefly at the pair, the stick of a sucker poking out of his mouth. He took a seat quietly by the far wall, arm slung over the back of his seat, one leg crossed over the other. He rested his elbow on his table, his head lazily propped up. He had a small round face with a slight pointed chin, he was very small and simple, proportional, overall very doll-like, and fragile looking. His grey eyes drifted back down to the large book, and he set it on the table, and opened it, the pages were covered in tiny print typed in endless paragraphs. His hair fell over his face, a very light platinum blonde, curling around his face and falling in waves and loose ringlets. He could have been easily mistaken for a little girl if he were to wear a dress. He had a dark red jacket draped over his shoulders, the top button fastened to keep it from slipping off. The hood was lined with white fur stippled with black. He wore a cream colored, knitted sweatshirt, sleeves rolled up to his elbows, and plain black jeans. He scowled at the book and wondered; Why was his cousin here so early? Wait... He looked back up and studied the person his cousin was with and huffed lightly. How bothersome. He wasn't about to get up and leave either.

Blinking beneath his hair, Syde stopped in his tracks on his way to the counter and smoothly turned on his heels, taking his own seat across from her. ".. I won't have anything either then." He smiled. He thought it rude, or at least awkward, to eat and/or drink in front of someone with no such food or beverage, whether they wanted something or not. He didn't even glance at the boy that came out of the bathroom; he had smelled him. He could also detect by way of olfactory that the boy was somehow kin to Lily, at least faintly, but he was silent on this matter. If Lily brought it up, he would introduce himself and whatnot, but otherwise he'd pretend like he didn't know. In the meantime his gaze remained on the pretty girl before him, and although he was silent his smile almost seemed enough conversation.

[sorry 'bout the delay, I've been doing school projects and studying for finals DD8..*AHEM*]
"Oh, okay..." Lily was feeling more comfortable now, having shaken of the slight shock of being rushed in. She looked on at her cousin for a moment, a quick flick of the eyes, not even, his blonde hair stood out from normal blonde. So light, it was nearly white, and a only a light pastel yellow shone off of it, pretty ringlets and curls, he would have made such a pretty girl... He'd probably been here for hours already, and by nature was quiet, and never wanted anything to do with anyone around him. He wasn't going to move anytime soon, judging from the look of his book and the page he was on. He wasn't going to be a bother, according to him, Lily doesn't exist if he doesn't want her to, and it worked the other way around. It was a mutual understanding, they were strangers in public, and when Lily's aunt wasn't around they weren't related at all. She was constantly saddened at the thought of her aunt's attitude toward him, Lily could never understand how a mother could hate their child so much for such a petty reason. She brought her attention out of the clouds and smiled at the strange man in front of her, he was so polite she wondered if he would take off his jacket and lay it on the ground so that she wouldn't have to tread through mud. It seemed like he would, she wouldn't doubt it, but she would feel absolutely awful if he did. "Mmm, You said you wandered, but, where exactly are you from?" She wanted to start a conversation, simply staring at him would seem awkward she thought.

( Lol. He's actually quite vain. xD There's no way he'd put his own jacket in the mud for her . But, he would pick her up and carry her over it. )
His smile faded somewhat, as though he had to think for a moment, or maybe the memory wasn't so pleasant. "England..." He said somewhat distantly after a brief pause. For answering so many questions of Lily's, he sure didn't ask much in return. He glanced out the window, quiet, thinking. Perhaps it was the mention of his origin, or perhaps he just got lost in thought at random.

[ xD I never understood the whole Jacket-mud-thing either. "Here lemme put mah jacket down so it can be dirty and you can walk on it, mmkai?" ]
"My mother was from England." Lily mused, she'd been there once before to gain knowledge of Britain's political standing toward several things. She had fogotten what exactly it was all about since then, but she did recall that it was filled with either gentlemen or brutes depending, and many of the noblewomen weren't pleasant to be around. She looked Syde over, eyes concerned, a small frown tugging at her lips. "What was it like living there?" Her knowledge of England was small, and based of of that one visit and what she'd heard from others. The French weren't really fond of anyone, really, the mentality was that anyone who wasn't French were all silly brutes, even though the French revolutions spilled the most blood out of any other. "Did you not like it?"
[woah, hidden history lesson. 8O ]

Syde was quiet, staring out the window through his bangs. His silence was maddening, as if it were steadily creeping toward you, choking you and clawing down your throat to keep you from screaming. Even if it was merely out of thought. Finally, it seemed, the consuming silence was disintegrated in an instant by his calm, quiet voice. "... It was alright. I don't like going back there, though. Too many people... know me, I guess." His voice dwindled nearly to a whisper, but soon returned. "Lots of crime." He added with an almost nostalgia-stricken smile, as if such negative activity amused him.
"They're quite superstitious, you know. If you act even slightly out of character they come up with some fantastical rumor about you." He chuckled quietly. "It'd be funny, if it wasn't for the fact a majority of said rumors give them the desire to, oh, valiantly slay you or whatnot." His joking smile was somewhat chilling, at least in comparison to his more friendly one. Something about the mischief in it seemed uncomfortably sinister.
